Head of Data – FinTech

Head of Data opportunity reporting into Chief Product Officer at high profile FinTech. The Head of Data will have Data Science, Data Engineering & BI teams reporting into them and be responsible for growing these teams.

Head of Data is a new role within this 80 person company, who have recently received high profile financial backing from one of the biggest FS institutions in the world.

Initially the Head of Data will build a team around them, whilst building a Data Warehouse & Data Infrastructure to effectively collect and store crucial data within the company.  In the first 12 months the Data Scientists in the team short have started to deliver some quick wins from this Customer Data.

Longer term the goal will be to further develop the companies data asset which in turn will enable better & more targeted services for customers.  This Data Asset could also be monetised externally given it’s unique value.

Head of Data – Required experience:

– Building Data Science or Data Engineering teams from scratch
– Developing a Data Warehouse & BI Reporting and Analytics layer on top
–  Previous Financial Services experience is a plus, as is any experience of working in a 2 sided digital marketplace
–  Technical background is open at the moment as Tools & Process are as yet undefined, although it is likely you’ll come from strong STEM academics and have good level of experience with SQL, Python, R
